Supporters swing away for HACT’s success

The event raised R45 000 for the gogo support group's programme.

THE Kloof Round Table 190’s inaugural Charity Golf Day, in aid of the Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust (HACT), was hosted at the Kloof Country Club recently.

The ‘Goals for Gogos’ event raised R45 000 for the organisation’s gogo (granny) support groups programme.

The funds will be used to enable 20 local gogos, who are caring for their orphaned grandchildren, to attend a six-month sewing skills training course.

At the end of the programme they will each receive a sewing machine.

“We are thrilled that we have been able to assist HACT in empowering local grandmothers who have been impacted by HIV/AIDS and are looking forward to attending the gogos’ sewing graduation ceremony later this year,” said the Kloof Round Table 190’s chairman, Matthew Helm.

“We would also like to thank all of our generous sponsors who made this event possible!”
