ONE man has died and a second driver in a critical condition after two vehicles collided on the N3 Pietermaritzburg bound, near the Shongweni off-ramp, earlier today.
Rescue Care’s Garrith Jamieson, said one vehicle overturned and landed on its roof. The driver of the second vehicle is in a critical condition and is currently being treated by paramedics at the scene.
After the collision, the one vehicle crashed into a truck.
“Traffic is severely affected on the Pietermaritzburg bound carriageway as emergency services are working to try and clear the scene. Most of the traffic is being diverted to the Shongweni off-ramp and then to join the N3 again from the Shongweni off-ramp,” said Jamieson.

Motorists are urged to drive with caution or find an alternate route.
