Preparations for the six- year-old’s trip began after she received a callback from a panel of judges which included recognised international talent scout, Kim Meyers, Ravynn Drummer, independent casting director for Tyler Perry Studios and Nate Butler junior producer for the Steve Harvey Show.

At The International ARTS Talent Showcase, Tashmira performed a fusion dance and modelling sequence and she 1am she received a callback, informing her audition was successful.

She has been so excited since practising for the six categories she will showcase her talent in. Preparing her for this dream is director of Just You Artist and Model Management, Elsubie Verlinden and her amazing team and Glamorous Models.

“I want to teach the world about my country. As much as I will be learning, I feel it’s important to leave the USA with a great impact,” she said.

Tashmira started exploring her talents at the age of four. “I love going to competitions because I get to meet new friends and try out new things,” she said.

Tashmira will be performing dancing, modelling and a TV commercial in front of representatives from agencies, dance centres, managers, producers and record labels from around the world.

At her young age, her parents feel this experience will teach her great skills to apply in her castings and auditions in South Africa. This will give her a competitive advantage to start working within the film and performing arts industry from a much younger age.

All costs to Florida will be doubled as she is a minor and will need to travel with an adult. Tashmira and her family are doing everything possible to raise funds including arranging high teas and gala dinners.

“We will host an afternoon tea in honour of Tashmira on Saturday, 24 March at the Hillary Primary School hall and tickets will be available at R100. This event will contribute to costs for her trip to the USA,” said her mum, Natasha Inder.
