Shoppers go colourful for CANSA

More than R6 000 was raised for CANSA through the Shavathon at Westville Mall.

WESTVILLE Mall partnered with Westville Boys’ High School to host a CANSA Shavathon at the weekend.

The mall was alive with colour and excitement as support poured in from the local community.

People shared their personal stories of why they chose to support the worthy cause and how the disease affected their lives.

Westville Mall also saw a visit from a few special guests, The Hollywood Bets Dolphins players, Mthokozisi Shezi, Sibs Makhanye and Cody Chetty.

The players showed their support by not only spraying their own heads, but by shaving and spraying the mall shoppers as well.

Test tickets to the upcoming Proteas vs Australia matches were given to those who supported the Shavathon.

The incredible community support, the hard work from the volunteers of Westville Boys’ High School and Hollywood Bets Dolphins Cricket team, helped raise R6 250 for CANSA.

Eight ponytails were also donated to make wigs for patients.

Westville Mall’s marketing manager, Kellie Ettmayr, said, “We were overwhelmed by the support from the community and local schools this year. We would like to thank the Westville community, WBHS, who were incredibly motivated, excited and hardworking in raising funds for the organisation, as well as the support shown by the Hollywood Dolphins Cricket team for all they did to raise awareness and funds for the worthy cause.”
