Kittens rescued at Browns’ School find new homes

The SPCA responded to a call about a trapped kitten at Browns’ School and discovered three more.

THE four kittens that were rescued at Browns’ School were recently adopted and are being well taken care of at their new homes.

The kittens were rescued by Inspector Petros Simamane and Field Officer Eric Simamane from the Kloof and Highway SPCA after responding to a call about a kitten trapped at Browns’ School.

SPCA marketer/fundraiser, Brigitte Ferguson said  Petros and Eric could hear a kitten crying which appeared to be trapped between two walls on the roof section at the back of the school.

“The head mistress, Colleen Bailey, gave them permission to remove the air conditioning  unit in order to access the kitten.”

Ferguson said it took them more than an hour to remove the unit and get hold of the kitten with a grabber through the hole in the wall.

“They then discovered three more kittens hiding in the dark corner. The mother was nowhere to be found and the staff at the school will be keeping an eye out for her and putting down food until she can be caught,” she said.

The SPCA thank Ms Bailey for phoning them and giving permission to remove the air conditioning unit to save the kittens.
