27 new constables deployed in Highway area

The new constables were warned to stay away from corruption.

THE cluster commander for the eThekwini Inner and Outer West Cluster, Major General James Sayer, welcomed 27 new constables into the cluster’s crime fighting team.

The 27 constables are part of those who have recently graduated from the SAPS academies across the country.

“This cluster is privileged to receive such young and healthy officers,” said Sayer.

All the newly appointed officers signed a copy of the South African Police Service Code of Conduct whereby they made a commitment to create a safe and secure environment for all people in South Africa.

The management of the SAPS in the eThekwini Inner and Outer West Cluster emphasised the importance of discipline in the organisation and the importance of prioritising service delivery to the community.

Chairman of the community board, Charlton Sibhaca, sternly warned the new constables to stay away from corruption and encouraged them to work hard with dedication and vigilance while serving their communities.
