Fabulous reads – Rowling’s imagination runs wild in cute novel

Book review - Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by JK Rowling.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, JK Rowling, Jonathan Ball Publishers, ISBN: 9781 4088 80715

EACH and every one of the Harry Potter books, and its delightful spin-offs, proudly adorn my bookshelf.

I have in my possession the very first copy of this book and quite a bit has changed since then.

There is a new foreword which makes mention of the recent film of the same name.

It boldly notes that new information will later be divulged on other adventures undertaken by its author, Newt Scamander.

Does this mean another book may be hitting stores sometime soon?

Possibly in the form of another screenplay for the second movie. I can only hope so!

The new novel, while still donating a portion of its sales to charity, is in hardcover and is filled with beautiful pictures.

Sadly though, they are not in colour.

Expect to find creatures from the well-known unicorn, yeti and gnome to JK Rowling’s own erumpent, occamy and snallygaster.

Many of them have gorgeous artwork to give you a better idea as to what the creature may look like.

I won’t blame you, however, for feeling a slightly short-changed as the cost of the book is quite high, considering only a few of the beasts have corresponding artwork.
