MY Little Pony fever is in the air.

The latest movie in the franchise has hit theatres and children everywhere will want to get their hands on these colourful critters, and create one of their very own.

This book will take it one step further as you can now bring them to life with augmented reality.

Our office had a ton of fun with this book.

It may only be a few pages in length, but boy are you in for a life-size pony treat!

Downloading the app is simple and is only 188MB in size, so whether you are connected to WiFi or not, it won’t put a dent in your monthly data allowance.

The iconic My Little Pony theme tune plays in the background and you are greeted with the play button which opens up a menu with instructions, life-size mode, dual user and customise.

In life-size mode, you simply hover your camera over the pages with an interactive icon and one of the Mane Six (Twilight Sparkly, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash Fluttershy, Applejack and Rarity) will pop up on the screen.

You can prompt them to walk around your virtual room and even pop them up into life size mode and snap a few pics with your new pony pals.

You can go one step further by creating your very own My Little Pony.

While this feature is enjoyable, it was lacking in customisation options as you can only choose between the various main character’s features such as their Cutie Marks and hairstyles.

The only real choice you get is your pony’s colours.

A plus is that you can create five of them, which can also be used in augmented reality.

The book’s pages are brightly coloured and filled with info on each of the Mane Six, their close friends, a few of their adventures and of course, their foes.

The app works on Android and Apple devices but would be best suited to tablets.

If you are wanting a book to keep your child entertained for hours on end – this is a must-have.
