Pinetown beauty, Naledi Mshengu crowned Miss uShaka 2017

Each of the category winners were thrilled that they won in their respective categories and look forward to their 2017 reign at uShaka Marine World.

USHAKA Marine World hosted their 13th annual Mr, Miss and Miss Junior uShaka Marine World finale at the weekend, which featured 45 hopefuls vying for the uShaka Marine World’s ambassadorial crowns.

It was a truly tough decision for the judges when they deliberated upon their decision on who would wear the esteemed crown in each category, and walk away with prizes valued at over R50 000.

Once the judges’ results were tabulated there was a round of applause as the following names were announced.

In the Miss Junior uShaka category; 2nd runner up was 16 year old Catelyn Mc Kenzie from the Bluff, who is a Grade 10 learner at Grosvenor Girls High, 1st runner up was 15 year old Westville resident, Jenna O’ Brien and the very confident and dynamic 13 year old, Grade 7 learner from Westville Senior Primary, Amahle Mgenge was crowned the winner.

In the Mr uShaka category: 2nd runner up was 25 year old Umhlanga resident Waheed Issufo, 1st runner up was 1st year UNISA law student from Pietermaritzburg, 20 year old Smiso Mlangeni and the title of Mr uShaka 2017 went to 25 year old graphic designer from Durban, Philani Zondo.

Finally, the coveted crown for Miss uShaka 2017 went to 21 year old Pinetown beauty, Naledi Mshengu who is currently studying towards her Bachelor of Arts degree in film, television and performance.

Taking second place as runner up was an IT Technician at a local broadcasting company, 22 year old Umbilo resident Tina Nkangane. Third place (2nd runner up) went to Thabile Makhanya, a 20 year old Bachelor of Social Science student from Yellowwood Park.
