AK47-wielding thugs hijack Kloof woman

The alleged hijackers pulled a gold ring off the victims finger and ripped gold jewellery from her neck, before fleeing in her vehicle.

THREE hijackers armed with AK47s held up a Kloof motorist and fled with her vehicle on Friday afternoon, 15 September.

Blue Security community and media liaison officer,  Andreas Mathios, said the motorist had just driven out of a property in Bromhead Road and was travelling along Marievale Drive around 3.30pm when she noticed that a white bakkie was following her.

“The victim was not certain as to exactly where the white bakkie had appeared from when it started following her. The bakkie overtook the motorist and then forced her to stop her vehicle. Three men armed with AK47s jumped out and forced her out of her vehicle,” said Mathios.

Mathios said they pulled a gold ring off her finger and ripped gold jewellery from her neck, before fleeing in her vehicle. No injuries were reported.

Pinetown SAPS attended the scene of the crime. A case of hijacking is being investigated.
