Literacy highlighted at Rotary networking lunch
During lunch, Margaret Keogh was inducted as the president of the Rotary Club of Pinetown.
THE Rotary Club of Pinetown recently held a networking lunch with the theme Talking Literacy. The event also marked the second induction of Margaret Keogh as president.
There were 40 guests with special interests in ecological, computer, academic and financial literacy.

There were also high school learners, represented by the Interact Clubs of Pinetown High Schools as well as visiting Rotarians from other clubs and Friends of Rotary, staff from St Clements care centre in Clermont and the Reading Gogos who work with the children at Pinetown Junior Primary School.
The Rotary Club of Pinetown has more than 12 years of experience in literacy interventions, spear-headed by community services director, Bill Draper and delivered through their Education Centre in KwaNdengezi.

The literary theme was reflected in the roses made from pages of an old book for table decorations, Rotary magazines doubled as place mats and the programme resembled pages from a newspaper.
