Artist donates portion of sales to charity

Friederike Macquet's paintings are based on pictures she has taken on her extensive travels all over the world, as well as objects, people, animals and scenes that intrigued her or touched her heart.

HILLCREST artist, Friederike Macquet, is the featured artist for the month at Hillcrest Private Hospital.

Her paintings are based on pictures she has taken on her extensive travels all over the world, as well as objects, people, animals and scenes that intrigued her or touched her heart.

Friederike said she has been painting all her life and painting goes far back in her family history.

“I intend to grow, change my style and subjects all the time, and be influenced by the work of other artists all over the world. I look forward to visiting galleries and museums in Berlin, Prague and Amsterdam next month,” she said.

Friederike has decided to donate a minimum of 30 per cent of the sales of her work displayed at the Hillcrest Private Hospital to Gift of the Givers, founded by Imtiaz Soolimon, whom she greatly admires, as well as the Kloof and Highway SPCA where she spends time as a volunteer dog walker.
