Women’s network help Open Door

The Open Door Crisis Centre will distribute the clothes that were donated by the women in blue.

IN their mission to reach out and assist underprivileged people, Pinetown SAPS Women’s Network donated clothes to the Open Door Crisis Centre.

Col Nancy Makhanya from Pinetown SAPS said they have numerous outreach programmes they are involved in throughout the year.

“We asked our colleagues at the station to bring clothes which are still in good conditionand chose Open Door as we work very closely with them and we know that they will distribute the clothes to those in need as they work with many shelters, orphanages and NGOs,” said Makhanya.

Director of the Open Door Crisis Centre, Thora Mansfield, said this is the second year that the women’s network has donated clothes to the centre.

“We have a strong working relationship with them especially regarding gender-based violence. We want to work more with them especially in the fight against women and child abuse. We are thankful for the donation, we support and honour the SAPS women’s network for the work that they do and for always going the extra mile,” said Mansfield.
