Biker killed in Malvern crash

This accident followed another critical bike crash in the area on Saturday, where a man in his 50s was left seriously injured when he was knocked off his motorbike on Old Main Road.

A MAN in his 60’s died in hospital after being involved in a serious collision on Main Road in Malvern on Saturday morning, 3 June around 11am.

Rescue Care Paramedics found the man critically injured on the roadway.

“Paramedics worked to stabilise the man on scene using Advanced Life Support Procedures. Once stabilised the man was rushed through to a nearby hospital, however, a short while later, due to the severity of his injuries. the man passed away in hospital,” said Rescue Care’s Garrith Jamieson.

At this stage the exact cause of the collision is unknown, however, the SAPS were on scene and will investigate.

According to ER24’s Russel Meiring the man’s motorbike had already been pulled to the side of the road by the community when they arrived.

“On assessment, paramedics found the man had sustained injuries to his chest and abdomen and was in a serious condition. He was transported to RK Khan Hospital for urgent treatment,” said Meiring.
