A handfull of actors, models, singers, musicians and dancers are then selected to represent South Africa every July at Talent America held in New York City, United States of America.

This year’s KZN Regionals hosted more than 200 audition pieces over a two day period.

“We decided we really did not have much to lose, let’s give it a shot,” said Sarah.

She modelled formal wear in her modelling category and selected a comedic monologue to perform. Both qualified her for the national leg of the competition.

“I was awarded overall first place in my age category and received the Best Model award. It was such an honour,” she said.

Hayden also bagged first place in his age category and received the highest mark for a songwriter, an amazing 90 per cent.

“From the moment we walked in we felt overwhelmed by the kindness of the talented hosts and the performers,” said Hayden

Sarah said it was an amazing country-wide turnout with more than 2000 pieces to be showcased.

“I entered seven modelling categories and two acting pieces. My husband entered two modelling, two acting, one songwriter and two artworks and we were over the moon with the results,” she said.

They were both invited to represent South Africa at Talent America which qualified them for their South African colours in Performing Arts.

Sarah received seven out of seven golds for her modelling and one gold and one bronze for acting. She was also crowned the Face of Talent Africa KZN 2017.
