Fabulous reads – ‘Seamless’ mystery thriller set to leave you breathless

Book review - Ragdoll by Daniel Cole.

Ragdoll, Daniel Cole, Jonathan Ball Publishers, ISBN: 9781 4091 68751

“One body. Six victims. A detective coming apart at the seams.”

This is the perfect intro for Daniel Cole’s masterfully written mystery thriller, Ragdoll.

The book centres around a disgraced and newly reinstated Detective William Fawkes (also known as Wolf) and his partner, Detective Emily Baxter, who are called to a gruesome crime scene where the corpse – later known as the ‘ragdoll’ – has been sewn together, using six separate victims.

They soon discover that the murders are somehow connected to the case which nearly destroyed Wolf’s career.

Things quickly escalate when the killer taunts the police by releasing the names of six new victims to the media along with the dates and times that they will be killed.

It becomes a race against the clock to determine how the old and new victims are related to Wolf’s old case as they desperately try to save as many lives as they can.

If you love crime series and thrillers this book is definitely for you.

Don’t let the understated cover fool you, for the book was nearly impossible to put down.

With lovable and complex characters as well as a ‘seamless’ writing style, Ragdoll has definitely become one of my all-time favourite novels. Cole’s hilarious pop culture references also consistently make the story relatable and real.

The fast pace and shocking plot twist will leave you on the edge of your seat!
