Cowies Hill family survives home invasion

One of the armed robbers pistol-whipped the home owner's son.

FIVE armed men stormed a Cowies Hill home and held the family at gunpoint at about 4.30am today.

Blue Security’s operations manager, Brian Jackson, said the men entered the home from the back of the property and once inside, a member from the gang pistol-whipped the home owner’s son when he verbally challenged them.

“The robbers held the family up at gunpoint, locked some of the residents in a room and forced others to load up a vehicle with a television and other valuables. The gang fled towards the N3. Police later recovered the vehicle in the Mpumalanga CBD,” said Jackson.
