THE count rises, as five people have been confirmed dead in the N3 collision, Durban bound, just before the Spaghetti junction. The accident took place near the Pavilion off ramp about an hour ago.
Garrith Jamieson, a Rescue Care paramedic has confirmed that the taxi was sandwiched between two trucks.
“I’m now on scene, two males and three female passengers from the taxi have been declared dead with 14 others seriously injured. They have been transported to hospital,” said Jamieson.
Traffic is severely backed up and motorists travelling that route are urged to be patient while the scene is being cleared.
