“Herd” about The Cows swimming for moola?

Are you a moo-ver and a shaker? The Cows need you to help them raise more than R250 000 at this year's Midmar Mile.

AS part of its tenth anniversary celebrations the KwaZulu-Natal herd of The Cows hope to raise more than R250 000 in this year’s Midmar Mile on 11 and 12 February.

The Cows are a group of sportsmen and women who use their passion for taking part in major sporting events to raise money for childhood cancer sufferers.

Last year R225 000 was raised through pledges and personal sponsorships and the group wants to exceed that to kick-start their tenth year of existence.

Once each swimmer has entered the event, each member of The Cows swimming herd is required to commit to raise at least R2500 or R1500 for students.

They will receive a distinctive The Cows costume and get the spend the day at The Cows site at edge of the dam and have access to food and drink.

Groups of 10 or more are eligible to join The Cows swimming herd for a fundraising commitment of R1500 per person.

The main event that The Cows are targeting is Event Two on Saturday, 11 February.

“There are a few local businesses that have really adopted The Cows for the aQuellé Midmar Mile,” said the Durbs Daisy.

“Makro, for example, have grown their team to more than 30 staff members over the years, and they bring so much enthusiasm and energy to the event. We also get great support from schools such as CURRO Hillcrest and Virginia Prep.”
