Donate the best gift this festive season

THE Rotary Club of Hillcrest will hold its final blood drive for 2016 on Saturday, 12 November, at the SANBS at the Colony Centre in Hillcrest from 9am to 3pm.

The club’s president, Martin Wheeler, appealed to the public to participate in its final blood drive before the festive season. “It is absolutely critical to have as much blood on reserve during this period,” he said. The club is hoping to have more than 40 pints of blood donated on the day. “People can also sign up on the day and donate at a later stage,” he said.

A person can donate blood if they weigh more than 50kg are between the ages of 16 and 65 years old, but can be older if they are already on the system, are in good health and lead a sexually safe lifestyle.

Each donor will receive a free boerewors roll and these will also be on sale. Contact 031 765 4035.
