UPDATE: Werda Skool responds to bullying incident

Messages of anger, support and well-wishes are pouring in on social media for the bully victim.

THE chairman of the Governing Body at Werda Skool has released a statement saying the school has a zero tolerance for bullying, after a video clip of a bullying incident went viral on social media earlier today.

The video has already had more than 16500 shares on Facebook.

The school reported that they view this latest incident in a very serious light despite that it happened outside the school premises, after hours.

“It is with this in mind that we have already initiated an internal disciplinary process against the alleged offenders. In the meantime, the alleged offenders have been temporarily suspended from school. The victim is being counselled by our school’s social services .”

Lt Col Thulani Zwane, spokesman for the KZN SAPS said, “We confirm a case of common assault was opened at Malvern Police Station, after a 16-year-old victim was assaulted at Impala Place outside his school. No arrests have been made.”

Jenny Grant wrote: “Shame the poor guy didn’t even have a chance to defend himself, I hope that bully is dealt with.”
