Youngsters show off cricket skills in U11 tourney

Fifty four games were played over the three days.

THE annual Sunfoil Mynahs U11 Twenty/20 tournament held at Kearsney College showcased the players’ outstanding skills.

The best batsman award went to Matthew Urquhart from St Charles Strikers, best bowler to Nick Kistna of the Westville Warriors and All Rounder to Robbie Pritchard of Ballito’s Ashton Aces. The three pool winning teams were Westville Warriors, Ashton Aces and the St Charles Strikers.

Fifty four games were played over the three days. This year, the tournament included 15 primary school teams: Winston Park, Highbury, Hillcrest, Kloof, HCA Curro, Westville, Northlands, Chelsea, Umhlali and Ashton College, as well as St Charles and Pelham from Pietermaritzburg, Somerset Cricket Club from the Western Cape and two development sides from the KZN Cricket Union.

Sunfoil was the main sponsor, with additional support from Betts Construction through Kingsmead Mynahs.
