Three people were declared dead on the scene in accidents across the Highway area.

Youngster knocked and killed

A young man, believed to be in his late teens, was knocked by a taxi and died on Saturday evening on the M13 in Pinetown.

According Chitra Bodasing Harduth, ER24’s spokesman, the young man had multiple severe injuries and was declared dead on the scene. “Sadly there was nothing that could be done,” said Harduth.

Man dies in Kloof crash

On Sunday afternoon Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a crash on the M13 near Kloof. The male occupant was ejected from the vehicle and was found lying on the road by paramedics. “The man died on the scene due to his extensive injuries,” said Chris Botha, Netcare 911’s media liaison officer.

One dead in Caversham smash

A man died in Caversham Road in Pinetown on Sunday evening. Chitra Bodasing Harduth, ER24’s spokesman, said paramedics found the man trapped under a vehicle that had rolled. The fire department was called in to lift the vehicle so paramedics could reach the man.”The man, believed to be about 35 years old, had multiple injuries and was declared dead,” said Harduth.

Harduth said the cause of the incident is unknown and the local SAPS will investigate.
