GALLERY: Headway members get sporty for winter games

More than a dozen of its members gathered at a local sports field to improve upon their times a the previous year's games.

THE local NPO, Headway-Natal, hosted its annual Winter Games at the Leigh Cocks hockey field in Westville recently.

Its members gathered at the sports grounds to take part in an exciting array of activities, from bowls and ball kick to flip and catch and beanbag throw.

“It’s not so much for people to compete against one another but for them to compete against their results from the previous year. It is a super fun day for everyone involved and all of the sports are timed and measured and for us it is a great way to measure improvements. It was such a lovely day and there was such a great turn out. Thank you to the staff and volunteers as well,” said Bronwyn Andrews, a physiotherapist at Headway-Natal.

Rod Soutter, the manager at the NPO thanked its sponsors Aquelle, Westville SuperSPAR, Consolidated Travel, Graham Moor, Westville Round Table, the Union of Jewish Women and Muffinds America for helping ensure the day was a success.
