Amy-Rose twirls her way to the top

Waterfall College's SPAR Star of the Month - June 2016.

AMY-ROSE Jack, a matric prefect with a passion for her chosen sport of drum Majorettes, is Waterfall College’s SPAR Star of the Month.

Her proud parents, Nadine and Warren Jack, described Amy-Rose as, “a conscientious worker, a loyal friend, an enthusiastic sportswoman and a reliable team player.”

She received KZN colours in 2015 and is now captain of the school’s majorette squad. Amy-Rose led the team onto the field at the KZN majorette finals on 11 June, where they took third place. This was the culmination of years of training, one of the highlights being her role as head flag of the 2015 Waterfall College majorette team which obtained 8th place at the South African nationals.

In her spare time, Amy-Rose enjoys swimming, dancing, skate boarding and all things arty. She also assists with the Cross Kids programme at her Church, a Bible-based Sunday school for littlies.

Amy-Rose studies design as one of her IEB subjects for matric. The design teacher, Genevieve Saville, said, “Amy-Rose approaches every task with enthusiasm and creativity and never fails to exceed expectations.”

The school’s deputy principal, Bryony Green, said, “Amy-Rose is a reliable student who is always prepared to do the extra bit. This is what makes her an outstanding member of our matric group and a respected leader in the school. I have been so privileged to see Amy-Rose flourish at Waterfall College.”
