Hillcrest AIDS Centre staff jump for joy

HACT staff were treated to a destressing and team-building day at the Jump4Joy Trampoline Park last Tuesday.

COMPASSION fatigue is a common phenomenon in people who work in the non-profit sector, especially those who spend their days caring for the very sick and destitute. This is why opportunities to destress and have some fun are so important.

The Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust’s CEO, Olivia Myeza, was delighted when Jump4Joy Indoor Trampoline Park in Waterfall agreed to host a destress and team-building morning for its staff. Shrieks of laughter were the order of the day as the team jumped their stress away last Tuesday morning.

The centre’s fundraising and marketing manager, Claire Hodgkinson, said, “On behalf of our hard-working team, we would like to thank Jump4Joy for allowing us this rare opportunity to destress and have some fun together. We would also like to say a big thank-you to Romans Pizza in Hillcrest, Tyson Properties in Hillcrest and Barloworld Ford and Mazda Pinetown for sponsoring delicious pizza and refreshments for our staff.”

The Hillcrest AIDS’s Centre Trust is a non-profit organisation providing unconditional love and hope to HIV/AIDS-impacted communities in the Valley of a Thousand Hills. HACT is the only organisation in the region providing palliative care to impoverished people, and specifically to people with end-stage AIDS.
