Miss India SA visits Ethelbert

The 21 year old beauty queen visited various cottages at the home, spending time with the children while getting to know them.

CHILDREN at Ethelbert Child and Youth Care Centre were pleasantly surprised by Miss India SA 2015, Krsna Priya Dasa’s visit on Friday, 26 February

Bearing cup cakes and the motive of spreading smiles, Dasa said the visit was her way of contributing to the happiness that everybody is after. “I have a very simple motive of being here and that is to make everyone smile. I believe everyone is looking for happiness and I’ve made it my mission to make everyone I meet smile,” she explained.

The 21-year-old beauty queen visited various cottages at the home, spending time with the children while getting to know them. The children welcomed her with open arms in their cottages, some toddlers wanting to be carried by her while older girls praised her for her beauty and eagerly listening to what she had to say.

Dasa, a UNISA psychology student, said she hoped her visit would inspire the children to fearlessly pursue their dreams and inspire others, all while still being at school.

“I am able to do modelling as well as schooling because I am studying via post. I want my visit here at the home to inspire the children to know that it’s okay to look dolled up and pretty, but without the knowledge of the world, you won’t get far and that is why they must study,” she said.

Ethelbert’s Public Relations Officer, Gaylene Allen, said they were delighted to host Dasa. “Our girls were very enamoured with Krsna Priya and had fun learning how to stand and walk like a model and beauty queen. I think she had just as much fun with the children – playing with our toddlers and sharing her experiences with the teenagers,” said Allen.
