Swift action prevents serious crime

Two firearms were recovered with 13 and eight live rounds respectively.

MEMBERS of the National Mobile Train Unit acting on intelligence followed a suspicious black car with two suspects into the Malvern area on Wednesday, 25 November.

“The members stopped the vehicle and did a search. Two firearms were recovered with 13 and eight live rounds respectively,” said W/O Marimuthu.

One of the firearms was linked to a murder case in KwaNdengezi. “The vehicle, which was impounded, had been noted at crime scenes in the Malvern area. Investigations are continuing and the suspects have been remanded in custody,” added W/O Marimuthu.

Station commander, Lt-Col Valerine Reddy, commended the members on the arrests and said their swift action prevented a serious crime.
