Moseley watch: meet the team

The Moseley patrolled area covers all residents on the east side of the M7 highway.

THE Moseley Neighbourhood Watch (MNW) held nominations for its new executive council members at its AGM in August. The newly-appointed team said they are passionate about keeping their area crime-free and look forward to working with the residents to ensure that this is so.

MNW communications officer, Mark Swan, said that collaboration plays an important part in the crime watch. “As a community, we need to stand together to make our homes safe. You can help by actively joining in on the MNW activities,” he said.

The Moseley patrolled area covers all residents on the east side of the M7 from St Augustine’s Road through to Sanctuary Place. “Did you know that every night while you are at home or sleeping, we have someone on patrol for that evening? Out of all the active members and all of the 1 150-plus households, we only have about 25 active patrollers. We need you,” Swan emphasised.

If you would like to join the neighbourhood watch to help keep Moseley crime-free, you can help the team by becoming a patroller or co-patroller, a road representative for your road, become a member of MNW or purchase a reflective MNW house sign with your house number on it, which helps SAPS and MNW patrollers find your house easier in case of an emergency.
