Mom and son injured in New Germany collision

Three people were injured in a New Germany taxi collision.

THREE people, including a 10-year-old boy, were injured on Wednesday morning in a head-on collision between a taxi and a car at the Blair Atholl and Torlage Road intersection in New Germany.

ER24 paramedics spokesman, Russel Meiring, said paramedics found two wrecked vehicles parked on the side of the road. “Both vehicles had sustained a serious amount of damage in the collision.

“A mother and her 10-year-old boy were found seated next to their car while the driver of the taxi was found lying alongside the roadside wall.

“All three patients had sustained moderate injuries in the collision,” said Meiring.

Paramedics treated the patients at the scene and thereafter transported them to hospital. The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene to investigate further.
