Ward 18 invited to a special meeting

The meeting will include presentations and explanations about GO! Durban's project.

THE community and businesses are invited to a special community meeting for GO!Durban’s programme to provide people with up-to-date information for the first route of the new integrated rapid public transport network from KwaMashu to Pinetown.

The meeting will be held in Ward 18 at the Pinetown Civic Hall, 60 Kings Road, Pinetown on Wednesday, 26 August at 6.30pm.

The meeting will include presentations and explanations about the project, its progress and the benefits of developing the new public transport network for all within the eThekwini area.

GO!Durban will also have facilities available for individuals and businesses from this community to register on the employment opportunities database.

Registration will require an identity document, proof of qualifications (if a qualification has been obtained) and proof of relevant skills, such as a driver’s license, as well as references.

Sharlene Versfeld, GO!Durban public relations and communications officer, said local businesses or contractors should bring their documentation (proof of registration or tax declaration).

“This employment database provides valuable information for GO!Durban when there is a call for new quotes from subcontractors or applications for employment on the construction in a relevant ward.

“This engagement is one of many that have been planned along the first corridor,” she said. Visit www.godurban.co.za for more info.
