Urgent notice: Water shut-down

Planned water shut-down to affect Tshelimnyama, KwaNdengezi and Intake Road Reservoir.

Due to repairs on the pumps electrical panel at the St Wendolin’s pump station, which burnt out on Wednesday morning, 17 June, all pumps had to be put off at this crucial pump station.

City technicians are currently working on site to attend to the emergency. However, it is not clear when the repairs will be completed.

Water tankers will be sent to the affected areas until repairs are complete.

“We apologise to all affected customers for the inconvenience caused,” said eThekwini Municipality’s communications head, Tozi Mthethwa.

The breakdown of the areas that will be affected by the shut-down are:

From Tshelimnyama Reservoir (M1), Mariannhill, Marian Heights, Dassenhoek, Nagina Township and some parts of Tshelimnyama.

From Tshelimnyama 2 Reservoir (M1A), some parts of Dassenhoek (gravity-fed into M1A) and some parts of Tshelimnyama.

From Tshelimnyama 3 Reservoir (M1B), Tshelimnyama, Sithandu Hills, Mansenseni, Epitoli and KwaLinda.

From KwaNdengezi Reservoir, KwaNdengezi township and Coffee Farm.

From Intake Road Reservoir (Q), Luganda, Demat area, Nsizwakazi, Motala Farm and Intake Road.
