Tragic end for reformed drug addict

I want my children and parents to be proud of me - said Khethukuthula Ndlovu who was killed on Tuesday night.

HIS dream to be a better father and son was shattered when a KwaDabeka former whoonga addict was shot on Tuesday night. Khethukuthula Ndlovu wanted to lead a clean life but that dream was taken away from him after his brutal murder.

Ndlovu was shot three times near his house and died at the hospital on Wednesday morning.

He is one of the 10 young men that were rehabilitated after admitting that they needed help to quit drugs.

Speaking to the Highway Mail at the launch of their project on Tuesday, 4 June, Ndlovu said he wanted to spend more time with his children and to support them.

“Since I started smoking whoonga, I have not been there for them and I have disappointed my parents as I started stealing at home. I used most of my money to support my addiction.

“I wants to lead a clean life, I want my children and my parents to be proud of me,”

KwaDabeka Police communications officer, W/O Sibusiso Ngcobo confirmed the incident.

“Ndlovu was shot near his house on Tuesday night and passed away on Wednesday morning.

“We are investigating his murder and the motive of the killing is not known at the moment,” he said.
