A family was hijacked by two men at gunpoint.

BELLAIR SAPS has issued a warning of caution to all motorists, especially those in the Seaview area following the morning hijacking of a local family.

On May 5 at approximately 7.20am, while alighting with his wife and child from a VW Polo on Caledonian Road, Seaview, Desigan Reddy noticed two men walk past him, who then asked for his help about a person living in the area.

Before he knew it one of the men had produced a firearm and pointed it towards Reddy’s chest, demanding he hand over his car keys, wallet and cellphone.

Reddy and his wife were told to run towards an open bush and to not turn and look at the them. Reddy, together with his wife, went the nearest house and asked for help.

After making a report to the police and his tracking company, the car was recovered a few hours later on Hill Street in Pinetown.
