One hurled from car in M13/N3 horror crash [PHOTOS]
Three people were seriously injured when they were involved in a crash on the N3 near the N3/M13 split, heading towards Durban.
ONE person was flung from a car and another two were injured in a head-on collision on the N3 Durban bound at Key Ridge near the M13 off ramp on Friday, 17 April.
A report from the scene indicated that a vehicle traveling towards Pietermaritzburg veered across the median and collided head on with the other vehicle.
Netcare 911’s spokesman, Chris Botha, said paramedics, the fire department and Netcare rescue units arrived at the scene and found the roadway littered with accident debris.
Two people from the one car were still trapped in the car while the driver of the other car was found at the side of the roadway.
“While the rescue officers used hydraulic equipment to free the injured, paramedics had to climb into the wreckage to stabilise them. After they were extricated and immobilised at the scene, medics transported them to various hospitals,” he said.
