Four-year-old killed in tragic fall

A four-year-old died early yesterday morning after falling from an eighth floor apartment in St Andrews Street, Durban.

According to Garrith Jamieson, operations director at Rescue Care, paramedics and Metro Police paramedics arrived at the scene to find the young boy lying on the pavement.

“A quick assessment found the child had no pulses present, but paramedics worked for more than thirty minutes to try and revive the young child. However, his injuries were too severe and the child passed away on the scene,” he said.

Jamieson said the events leading up to how the young boy fell from the apartment were unclear but police were on the scene and would be investigating further.
