VIDEO: Woman hijacked outside Kloof home
The four men were caught using the iPhone's location services and the vehicle recovered a few hours after the hijacking.
A WOMAN visiting her friend was hijacked outside a Kloof home on Buckingham Road on Wednesday, 11 February.
According to CCTV footage, the woman arrived at the friend’s home and waited in her car. The resident is seen walking to the driveway gate to see who was there, and then returning to the house to open the gate. The woman in the car got out the vehicle and walked up to the gate.
During that time another car, which is believed to have had four people in it, drove past. Then they drove past again while the woman was still standing at the gate, and must have seen an opportunity to hijack the vehicle.
They alighted from the vehicle. One man ran up to the woman and took her iPhone and car keys, then opened the car and drove off with a second man.
Fortunately the alleged hijackers where caught due to the iPhone’s location services, and the vehicle was recovered a few hours later.
Surveillance footage clearly showed the hijackers driving past and shortly after moving in to hijack the woman.
