Swimmers raise funds for Miles4Marrow

Join the Miles4Marrow initiative and help raise funds for a worthy cause.

SIXTEEN brave swimmers from across Durban championed the cause of The Sunflower Fund in the 2015 Miles4Marrow Midmar Mile fundraising and awareness campaign.

Participating swimmers obtained sponsorships per mile covered. All funds raised will be used to include new bone marrow stem cell donors on the South African Bone Marrow Registry, in turn giving hope to patients diagnosed with life-threatening blood disorders such as leukaemia.

Weeks of ardent preparation in both physical and mental training paid dividends as elated swimmers victoriously crossed the finish line with fervent supporters and well-wishers looking on. Such physical conquests underpin the ethos of the Miles4Marrow campaign, which promotes the saying, ‘Most things in life cannot be done alone’.

The Sunflower Fund thanks all Miles4Marrow swimmers and their sponsors for their worthy contributions. For more information on how to get involved with The Sunflower Fund’s Miles4Marrow campaigns contact Allison Naidoo on 031 266 1148 or email allison@sunflowerfund.org.za.
