Harassed on my way home

"Karma is a wonderful thing"

EDITOR – On Wednesday 6 August at around 4.25pm, I was driving up Josiah Gumede (Old Main) Road, and wanted to turn right into Stapleton Road.

There was an old Silver Audi with a male driver, which was coming from the Cowies Hill side and who also wanted to turn into Stapleton Road.

As there are two lanes, and he still seemed to be a short distance away, I decided to turn into the right hand lane of Stapleton Road, allowing him to turn into the left hand lane.

Obviously this man was driving too fast, and also wanted to turn into the right hand lane, but due to his speed he had to slam his brakes to avoid hitting me on the passenger side of my vehicle. He then hooted at me, flashed his lights and gave me the finger.

He then continued to drive extremely close to my rear bumper and continued to flash his lights and hoot at me. When I turned into the road on the right, under the bridge, he followed me, continued to hoot, gave me the finger and flashed his lights again.

He seemed to be driving extremely erratically and continued to intimidate me almost the whole duration of my drive home. I finally lost him after about 10 minutes, but not without exceeding the speed limit myself, which also put my life in danger.

He must be a very sad individual, one who has so little in life that he clearly gets some sort of power trip by intimidating a woman. I can only hope that his wife, mother, sister, daughter or niece never have to deal with him!

Karma is a wonderful thing, and I sincerely hope it bites him, because its people like that, that don’t deserve the oxygen that we breathe.
