Man stabbed in Pinetown

Netcare 911 paramedics used advanced life support on the man for 15 minutes before his heart began beating again.

A MAN fought for his life after he was stabbed on Mercury Crescent in Mariannridge on Sunday afternoon.

According to Chris Botha, media spokesman for Netcare 911, the incident took place at around 12.48pm and the object that was used to stab the man has yet to be identified

Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found a 23-year-old man lying on the ground with life threatening injuries. Advanced life support paramedics were able to resuscitate the man after about 15 minutes.

The man was then placed on a ventilator and under the constant care of a Netcare advanced life support paramedic, he was taken to a hospital in Chatsworth for emergency surgery. “Exact detail to the cause of the incident is still speculative and will remain subject for police comment,” said Botha.
