New evidence: woman linked to drug den

Days after the multi-billion rand drug bust in Kloof, it was found that the haul could be a base ingredient used to manufacture mandrax and not heroin.

LATEST reports revealed that a woman is believed to be linked to the multi-billion rand drug bust in Kloof last week.

Further investigations led to the discovery of a woman’s clothing, which was said to have been scattered around the house.

According to Colonel Jay Naicker, spokesman for the KZN SAPS, during preliminary testing of a few samples it was found that the drug packaged was methaqualone, a base ingredient used to manufacture mandrax and not heroin as initially reported.

He noted that it could take months to test the haul of drugs recovered from the Everton drug den.
