SANDF celebrates 20 years with a bang

The KZN Tattoo will be presented from 9 to 12 July.

THE KwaZulu- Natal Military Tattoo invites people to join the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) in celebrating 20 years in defence of democracy.

The KZN Tattoo will be presented at Natal mounted rifles from Wednesday 9 July to Saturday 12 July, 2014 at 84 Signal Unit, Lords grounds military base, Old Fort Road in Durban. The gates will open at 4.30pm for the public. This will allow for plenty time to enjoy a delicious meal.

There will be a food court which will cater for every taste. The public can also enjoy the military display, before the start of the KZN Military Tattoo 2014 at 7pm.

Staff sergeant, Johann Kruger said, the SANDF would like to inform people that during the show there will be various loud bangs.

“The KZN Military Tattoo strives to build on the legacy left by the Durban Tattoo during the 1970s and 1980s and offer the public the opportunity to experience traditional military music and other related military acts.

“Military music has proven itself to be a firm favourite with the public and this year the SANDF look forward to providing the most outstanding military music money can buy, proudly brought to life by well-trained military brass and pipe bands from the different services.

“In addition to the military music, the public will be treated to military re-enactments which will show why South Africans can truly be proud of the South African National Defence Force.

“We have created a unique opportunity for people who do not reside in Durban to attend the KZN Military Tattoo and to spend a lovely two days in Durban,” said Kruger.
