Botha’s Hill siblings threatened at knife point

Botha's Hill crime wave continues.

BOTHA’S Hill has become an easy target for an alleged syndicate operating in the area and are believed to have hit two separate homes in a matter of hours today.

Just a few hours ago, three robbers broke into a home in Mackenzie Road in Botha’s Hill and robbed the two occupants at knife point.

Steven King, of Securelink and Waterfall Crime Watch, said the three robbers climbed through the fence and made their way into the kitchen. They used the kitchen knife to hold up the occupants. They stole the TV and a few PlayStation games.

“The Shongweni K9 unit was on the scene and they were able to track the men down to the railway line but then lost their scent,” said King.

In another incident in Botha’s Hill, a group of robbers broke into a home along Ridge Road at about 1.30am on Friday.

“On Wednesday night, the home owners noticed trespassers outside their bedroom window and decided that the following night they would stay with their in-laws,” said King.

The men returned on Friday morning and were said to have plundered the house as all of the hi tech equipment had been placed near a hole found in the diamond mesh fence surrounding the property. According to King, the only item unaccounted for was the washing machine.

The Shongweni K9 unit, local SAPS, SA CCW, Careline crisis centre and Securelink were at the scene. No arrests have been made.
