Slither down to snakebite course

The Botanical Society of SA will also raffle a book, A Complete Guide to the Snakes of Southern Africa, at the event.

THE KZN Coastal branch of the Botanical Society of South Africa will host a snakebite course on Sunday 18 May from 2.30pm at the Durban Botanic Gardens Visitors Centre.

Snake bite victim, Ingrid D ‘Eathe, will recount her first-hand experience. Snake expert, Pat McKrill, will talk on ways to minimise risk and what can be done in the case of an unexpected snake encounter. Dr Jenna Taylor, an anaesthetist, will talk about the do’s and don’ts should the worst happen.

A book, A Complete Guide to the Snakes of Southern Africa, courtesy of Exclusive Books in Gateway, will also be raffled on the day. You can also purchase tickets, at a cost of R10 each, in advance, should you not be able to attend the event.
