Clermont voters want jobs and houses

Voters were out as early as 4am to cast their vote.

EMPLOYMENT and RDP houses were at the top of the list among voters queuing to cast their ballot at the St Clements Hall in Clermont

Some voters were at the voting stations at as early as 4am to ensure that they cast their vote.

Nathi Khanyi who was at the voting station at 4.30am said he was one of the first ten people to vote at the station today.

“I did not want to experience problems later in the day and in the long queues like previous years.

Khanyi said this year’s election were much quicker although the hall was opened at 7.20am because technical problems.

Martha Mazibuko (86) said she is happy that she got another chance to vote again this year.

“It important that young people should vote in the elections, it the only way that your voice can be heard. If you do not vote you can not voice out your opinions.

“What we will expect from the party that will win these elections is creating job opportunities as our grandchildren are not working and also we need houses,” said Mazibuko.
