uShaka searches for beauty and brains

uShaka Marine World is searching for this year's Mr, Miss and Junior Miss uShaka Marine World winners.

DO you have what it takes to be crowned this year’s Mr, Miss and Junior Miss uShaka Marine World pageant winners?

With help from Nestle, KwaZulu-Natal’s favourite beachfront venue is offering prizes to the value of R50 000 which include over R25 000 cash, cruises on the MSC Opera, a photographic portfolio, as well as public relations support from S&A Marketing.

uShaka is not looking for just another pretty face, they are searching for someone with strong leadership and ambassadorial skills who can be the perfect representative for the marine park and its sponsors at various events.

In the past the pageant has proven to be a fantastic platform for old winners to build their careers. Megan Coleman (Miss SA 2006), Jeslin Ganasen (Mr SA Model 2006), Devin O Malley (Winner of the Loot and finalist for Mr SA), Melody Zulu (top five in the Nokia Face of Africa 2006 and a Miss SA finalist), Patrick Kasongo (second in the 2010 Mr South Africa pageant), Lemari Smit (Miss Northern Gauteng, Miss Umhlanga 2010 and Miss Sundown 2013) as well as the latest winner, Jason du Plessis, who is currently a contestant on Big Brother South Africa 2014, have entered and won other popular pageants and events.

Girls aged between 13 and 16 can enter the Junior Miss uShaka and girls and boys who are 17 and over can enter the Mr and Miss uShaka competition. Entry is free and entry forms are available at uShaka Marine World. Entries close on Friday 28 March.

The semi-finals for this year’s competition will be held on Saturday 24 May from 12pm to 4pm at the Wet ‘n Wild in uShaka Marine World. The gala final takes place on Saturday 21 June at 7pm at the Dolphin Stadium.
