A new Renault for your trophy collection

Renault recently introduced the Megane R.S. 300 Trophy which represents the ultimate version of their Megane model range in both design and performance terms.

Renault recently introduced the Megane R.S. 300 Trophy which represents the ultimate version of their Megane model range in both design and performance terms.

Adding to the individuality of the Trophy variant is exclusive exterior additions. Quickly noticeable upfront is a unique Renault Sport F1-style splitter which not only promotes the sporty theme but provides for additional downforce. Mirroring this theme is a rear diffuser which closely resembles those found on track only racing vehicles. Adorning exterior panels is Trophy insignia, identifying the exclusive model. The performance hatchback rests on 19-inch Jerez Triple Tone which adds to the overall performance theme and compliments the Brembo callipers situated just behind.

The interior further bolsters the exclusivity as the driver benefits from an Alcantara steering wheel. In addition to the unique steering wheel, the driver can expect a Zamac Aluminium gear knob lever and handbrake gaiter. The elegant but sporty theme is continued with red contrast stitching found on the upholstery which includes R.S. design Recaro Bucket seats finished in Alcantara. The bucket seats allow for the driver’s position to be lowered by up to 20mm and final driving position can be finely adjusted. The sporty cabin also features the Renault Sport Multimedia System which materializes in an 8.7-inch portrait-oriented R-LINK touchscreen which includes a satellite navigation system with South African maps, Bluetooth, USB and AUX input.

Occupants benefit from a Dual-Zone climate control system while the driver gains access to cruise control with speed limiter, a unique Renault hands-free key card for keyless entry, automatic lights and wipers. Also found on the inside of the Trophy is the R.S. Monitor V2 on-board tracking system which provides the driver with real-time engine performance and race telemetry.

Under its proverbial skin, the Megane R.S. 300 Trophy features the 4CONTROL four-wheel steering system which enables a smaller turning radius, better stability and quicker steering response which benefits the vehicle on the road and track. The special edition Megane is built on the Cup chassis which feature stiffer suspension and a Torsen mechanical limited-slip differential resulting in better cornering and traction.

Bringing the vehicle to a quick stop is bi-material front brake discs and Brembo brake callipers. Beneath the bonnet features a 1.8-litre turbocharged petrol motor producing 224 kW and will develop 400 N.m of torque mated to the 6-speed manual gearbox and 420 N.m when paired with the 6-speed dual-clutch EDC gearbox.

Warranty and Service

The Megane R.S. TROPHY model range comes standard with a five-year/90 000km Service Plan, a five-year/150 000km mechanical warranty and a six-year anti-corrosion warranty.
