We receive weekly reports of how motoring manufacturers are stepping up to the need for help during these trying times. The current global pandemic has left disaster in its wake with many South Africans feeling the strain. KIA recently donated one of its popular compact cars, the Picanto to the Beeld Children’s Fund.

The donation of the KIA Picanto 1.0 START reaffirms the company’s commitment to helping vulnerable South Africans. It is the third consecutive year that KIA Motors donates a vehicle, which the Fund will once again use as the grand prize in their annual fundraising raffle. The raffle is also supported by Afrikaans radio station, Radiosondergrense.

The Beeld Children’s Fund was established in 1977 and strives to assist children in need by focusing on programmes that aid the development of body, soul and spirit. It is a registered Non-Profit Organisation and Public Benefit Organisation. Last year, the Fund’s annual fundraising raffle raised a total of R729 245 which allowed them to support five development programmes.

“As a proudly South African company, it is a privilege for us to once again support the Beeld Children’s Fund’s annual fundraising drive,” says Gary Scott, CEO, KIA Motors South Africa. “The youth represent the future of our beautiful country, and we are proud to help provide opportunities to thrive and prosper. We rely on organisations such as the Beeld Children’s Fund to be our hands.”

The great thing about this fund is that the public can donate as well as there are a number of other prizes, apart from the KIA Picanto to win. For every donation of R30, donors receive one entry into the raffle. Should a donation of R100 be made every month via EFT, credit card or Snapscan, donors receive four entries and are automatically entered into the running for a monthly bonus prize. Likewise, a monthly donation of R200 secures eight entries, as well as an automatic entry for all bonus prizes. Entries close at midnight on 4 November 2020.
