4 worst things people have done after a break-up

Ways on how not to handle a break up.

SOME people called DJ Euphonik petty for saying on television that he has a lot of dirt on Bonang after their break-up.

But sometimes petty is the only thing that feels good after a bad split. Four young people from the South Coast have confessed to some of the things they’ve done after a break-up.

Nonhlanhla Nzuza(24) said she couldn’t believe she had been dumped and felt she had to come up with a plan that would make her boyfriend change his mind.

I lied and said I was two months pregnant

“We were so inseparable that everyone thought nothing would ever break us apart. I still remember the day he broke up with me as if it was yesterday. I was at his place, and he told me we were not working anymore. I asked for the reason, and he gave me that famous, ‘It’s not you it’s me,’ line. I was so heartbroken that after a month I went back to him and said I was pregnant. I knew it was wrong, but I wanted him to feel the pain he had caused me. Instead he was happy that he was going to be a father and accepted the responsibility that came with it. But after a month I told him I had been faking the pregnancy because I felt guilty for lying to him.”

Sfundo Mkhize (27) said he was once sure that he found the future mother of his kids, but she then disappointed him.

I had to ask for all the presents I ever bought for her back, including underwear

“She cheated with a guy from the same area as ours, Gamalakhe. At first I suspected there was something going on between them, but every time I asked her, she would deny it. I saw them being cosy at Shelly Centre, and it was clear they were more than friends. After we broke up, I went to her house, and asked for all the presents I’d given her, including the underwear she was wearing. She had to take it off that minute because it was my money.

Nelisiwe Myeza (24) said when your partner breaks up with you for no valid reason, you should keep some of their belongings for no valid reason.

“I did not bring back his belongings”
“When he broke up with me I had his belongings, his laptop and his jacket. He wanted me to give them back and I didn’t. I gave the jacket to one of my male friends; it looks way better on him. His laptop, I kept, even though I have my own. I just wanted to be spiteful.”

Thandeka Cele (23) said she threatened to send the new girlfriend intimate pictures of them because she felt like she used her while he was trying to sort out his relationship problems with his ‘real girlfriend’.

“I told him I will send his girlfriend all of our pictures”
“We broke up and I couldn’t accept it. I became petty by sending his girlfriend all of our cosy pictures, which I doubt she saw because the messages appear as unread even today. So I sent him screenshots of what I sent to his girlfriend. I just wanted to be a nuisance and irritate him and it worked. The other day he posted a photo with his new girlfriend and I commented, ‘You left a Bonang for a Candy Mokwena.’ He was so pissed he ended up blocking me on his social media.”
