Women’s Month Profile: Heiltje le Roux

The International Women’s Day (IWD) theme for 2016 is Pledge for Parity. Worldwide, women continue to contribute to social, economic, cultural and political achievement. But progress towards gender parity has slowed in many places.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) predicted in 2014 that it would take until 2095 to achieve global gender parity. Then one year later in 2015, they estimated that a slowdown in the already glacial pace of progress meant the gender gap wouldn’t close entirely until 2133.

Biography: Heiltje le Roux

Since childhood, Heiltje (Cancer Sun Libra Moon) experienced mystical encounters. She became fascinated with astrology in her late teens. She graduated in Fine Arts at the University of Pretoria, majoring in History of Art and Graphic Design. The psychology and religion sections of the university library however, was where all available time was spent absorbing anything esoteric, especially mythology and symbolism as contained in religious art iconography. While working as a graphic designer, her drive to want to understand, led her to teach herself the art of astrological chart interpretation. Being a constant reader, together with a background in illustrative design, technical drawing and sacred geometry came in very handy.

She eventually formally studied the methodology of astrology with a gifted teacher who sadly passed away, leaving behind a legacy of seeking the truth about the developing soul in this incarnation. 

While raising a much younger daughter and two older sons, she continued to consult and write, using astrology and its related fields, to give meaningful understanding to the full potential of every person. With a strong Spiritual focus, she leads clients to have the confidence to be in control of their lives in order to make informed choices to be the captains of their own lives.

Q & A

What are your thoughts regarding the IWD theme? What does it mean for you personally?

The idea of women as a force that brings something valid to society can never be underestimated. Women bring forth life, sustain life and nurture life. To include women on all fronts globally, contributing on all arenas, is necessary for the growth of humanity as a whole.

According to the WEF gender parity will only be achieved by 2133. What is your response to this statement and how do you contribute to the struggle for gender equality?

As an astrologer, I follow the prevailing energy systems that form the matrix from which we tap our ideologies. For the past few years, we have had the fast moving masculine energy of innovation; for the years from 2019 to 2026; we will have the slower moving feminine ideal of sustained value and precious resources.

What are the major obstacles that women face?

Women are strong. Women need to understand this. Without embracing their power, women will face a shallow existence of emotional vulnerability. The idea that an obstacle can be described, makes it something that can be analysed and overcome, a challenge, not a blockage. Women need to start living from the principle of sustained creativity, not vulnerability.

What were the challenges and obstacles that you personally had to overcome to become the woman that you are today?

During the times in my life that I had made the decision to raise children and not contribute financially to the upkeep of my family, I was seen as inferior. This always baffled me, as children are our most precious resource for the future. The education of valid, thinking, morally sound members of society is something women must stand up for and plan for in order to keep this resource as the first principle of survival, as healthy as possible.

What advice do you have for young women today?

Find out what your passions are, find out what your emotional equilibrium is, find out how you can use your skills, learn all you can about it, invest time and resources into developing your uniqueness, and use it to lift your life and humanity to the highest level possible.

Anything you would like to add?

Astrologically it is showing that the energy available right now has tremendous potential, that’s why everything is in a state of precarious flux. Do not buy into the negativity, because then you invite negativity into your life. You may choose carefully and with as much optimism as you can, what you want from the future. Make it as rich and as full as you possibly can. What you desire and want to be will come to you.
